Easter Jeep Safari 2019, back again by popular demand, attracts wheelers from every part of the country to explore this unique 9-day event. Daylong trail rides depart out of Moab, Utah hosted by the Red Rock 4-Wheelers Inc. This four-wheel drive club is a known local host for this exciting event. Trails begin as early as 8am to host registered rock crawlers, ready to climb the gorgeous terrain Utah is known for.
52 Years in the Making
Humble beginnings for Jeep Safari began in 1967 with the Moab Chamber of Commerce members. The jeep community was known to rally on Behind the Rocks Trail and added the Moab Rim trail the following year. What began as a small group of friends in the community enjoying rock crawling on red rock, has grown into what we know today as Easter Jeep Safari, with attendees flocking from around the world.
Essentials for the Trip
Trail enthusiasts provide their own four-wheel drive vehicle to master this skillful wheeling experience. With trails for every type of vehicle, you have a choice between 2-wheel drive accessible paths and more difficult runs for the more experienced crawler. Certain trails require more heavily modified four-wheeler rigs in order to avoid breaking parts or adding damage.
Other items to include in your must-have essentials list are part of our extensive line of off-road products. This includes our New Gen. 2 onboard air systems (OBAs), which run our dual VIAIR 485C compressors. Savvy off roaders love our second-generation OBA because the compressors feature 100% duty cycle at 200 PSI. They’re also designed to be quieter than any of our compressors, and have a sleek new head design, too. Our onboard air systems can be used for multiple pneumatic applications including powering air tools, tire inflation and much more, perfect for off-road use! VIAIR is one of the only makers of the full Onboard Air systems we provide. For tips on choosing the right Onboard Air System, visit our blog post here. We also feature our popular portable tire inflators ranging in a variety of sizes and can fill tires up to 42”. For tips on choosing the right Portable tire inflator, visit our blog post here.
Events to Participate In
Not all vehicles have to be Jeeps in order to participate in this entertaining event. The only requirement is that you have a rig with four-wheel drive capability and a high ground clearance with 2-speed transfer case. Knowledgeable trail runners lead the way to explore famed trail runs, beginning with check in at the Spanish Trail Arena. “Big Saturday” continues to hold the record for the largest trail ride with approximately 9 different locations in the area.
Jeep Celebrates All Things Gladiator
Each year, Jeep organizes a group of concept vehicles to display at the Easter Jeep Safari in front of an immense gathering of avid Jeepers. For this year’s 2019 reveal, Jeep premiered the focus on the all-new Gladiator pickup truck. This nod to the original Jeep features a pickup edition for this concept of Jeep’s newest adventure. The Jeep Five-Quarter is the most unique with focus resembling the unique 1968 Jeep M715 military truck. This concept is the only build not based on a current Gladiator pickup or Wrangler. The Jeep Wayout gestures an overlanding vehicle with a roof-mounted pop-up tent, a foldout awning, and a storage system in the bed for extreme accessibility while out on the road. The Jeep Flatbill is an endorsement to the flat-brimmed caps preferred by motocross enthusiasts. The bed is also modified to hold two dirt bikes for maximum storage before your outdoor escapade.
The Red Rock 4-Wheeler’s members perform this show year after year by volunteering their time and services without payment. We look forward to checking out their guiding runs come for many years and what is to come next year! Stay tuned for more of Easter Jeep Safari by following their Facebook page here.
