For the 2nd year in a row, VIAIR was the presenting sponsor for the Forbidden Fantasy Show N Shine in Laughlin, NV. This popular show hosted by the Forbidden Fantasy Car & Truck Club is located at the luxurious Avi Hotel and Casino, positioned right along the Colorado River.
We were excited to present the show for many reasons: to release specs and take pre-orders for our new Gen. 2 Dual Packs, and, of course, show off high-quality builds at our booth.
The Junk Yard Dawg
Kaylie Davis of Big Willie’s Garage in Fruita, Colorado is one of the leading ladies in the automotive scene! She is best known for taking her project build, the ’58 Chevrolet Apache “Junk Yard Dawg” from a backyard rust bucket, to a beautifully restored truck all on her own! This rebuilt classic definitely stands out with its unique look featuring a complimentary two-tone black and grey paint style, accentuating its billet accents. The Spring Festival of LX’s reigns as the hottest mopar enthusiast gathering of the year! Based out of Southern California, the first meeting of the LX enthusiasts consisted of only 4 vehicles in 2004. At the time, LX first referred to the then-new rear-wheel drive vehicle platform for the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum. In 2006, the Dodge Charger was added. Now, Spring Festival uses the LX designation to include later models such as the LC (Dodge Challenger) and LD (Dodge Charger).

This one-of-a-kind custom show attracts air suspension and off-road enthusiasts, builders, and major celebrities in the automotive scene. This, plus the over 2,000 custom vehicles competing for sought-after awards, makes it one of Texas’ leading automotive events of the year! Show promoters Lonnie Ford, Todd Hendrex, Jarrod Dunahoo, and Phil Cholette work tirelessly all year long leading up to the show, and we certainly saw the fruit of their labor when VIAIR attended the show.
Recently, over 500 of the best hot rods, customer classics, muscle cars, and motorcycles competed against one another at the Grand National Roadster Show (formally known as the Oakland Roadster Show). In its 69th year, The Grand National Roadster Show is now the longest running indoor car show in the world! This custom car show was located at the Fairplex Fairgrounds in Pomona, CA for its 15th consecutive year.
All throughout the weekend, a team of judges focused on detail, quality, condition, safety, and originality to select a winner. These experienced experts in the car show scene are arranged into teams that focus and keep reliability within a point system for each vehicle class.
The main focus of each point is for quality and degree of difficulty in modification. The top achievable award is America’s Most Beautiful Roadster, with a cash prize of $10,000! Other notable awards are: Outstanding Overall, Outstanding Detail, Outstanding Color Design, Outstanding Engine, and Outstanding Interior.
The winner of this year’s 2018 America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award went to David Martin, owner of the 1931 Ford Roadster. Build credit for this beauty goes to Hot Rods and Hobbies out of Signal Hill, CA. You can easily see how this vehicle continues to set the bar for future winners to come.
