Wekfest USA is one of Southern California’s premier aftermarket import events. This weekend, we attended their Long Beach show down by the waterfront overlooking the Queen Mary. What started as a simple get together for auto enthusiasts alike in a small parking garage in San Francisco in 2009 has since grown into its eighth year spanning 9 cities, domestic and abroad.
Wekfest’s message is simple: make each exhibiting vehicle and vendor the focus of the show and create an enthusiast environment everyone can enjoy and share their passions together. Read More about Summer Kicks off with Wekfest Long Beach
Here at Viair, it’s not all about air suspension or offroad. We enjoy seeing our compressors being used in a variety of applications, whether it’s in agricultural, industrial, medical, or BBQ rib making industries!
Our goal is to give back to the community where we can. We achieved this with our latest community outreach project for students at Random Lake High School in Random Lake, WI. Project GRILL is a program in Sheboygan County that teaches high school students how to design, manufacture and market a product from beginning to end. By learning how to create a custom grill from scratch, students will have an opportunity to explore various manufacturing career options. In this 30-week program, students will be able to gain experience in areas such as project management, design, fabrication and finishing, assembly, quality, and testing.
This year, 13 students are making a 1/3 scale replica of the Big Taste Grill made by Johnsonville Sausage, LLC. Because the grill lid weighs 500 pounds, students at Project GRILL approached us to donate a pneumatic solution for lifting the lid. The students’ grill will use two pneumatic cylinders to assist in lifting the 500 pound lid to expose the grilling area. We are proud to share that the cylinders will be powered by VIAIR’s Quarter Duty OBA compressor kit. As of last month, the students have started to install the compressor kit, and are currently adding safety features to make sure the grill is safe for all users. The students completed this project last week and they did a great job! We look forward to seeing this grill in action!
In 2007, Relaxing in SoCal was introduced to the automotive community. What started off a smaller show has attracted more and more local enthusiasts over the years. RISC is now one of southern California’s premier automotive events, inviting all types of vehicles to its current show location.
The show had its beginnings at the K&N Engineering facility in Riverside. Soon after, it was moved to Alpine Electronics of America’s headquarters in Torrance. As RISC continued to outgrow its location, the show moved to its current location – Stub Hub Center in Carson, California where the ample space provides plentiful parking for spectators and show goers. We’re excited to share our DOT approved Push-to-Connect fittings, made from nickel-plated brass for durability and corrosion resistance, with a max working pressure of 200 PSI. These fittings make installation of an airline a breeze! Simply push the airline securely into the fitting and it is locked in and ready to go.
Our Push-To-Connect fittings have a highly competitive price point, offering an excellent quality solution for connecting air lines. They provide quick installation, while still allowing airlines to flex and move.
These fittings use an internal collet and an external push button to connect quickly and effortlessly, creating a leak free connection. VIAIR’s Push-to-Connect fittings come in 1/8”, 1/4”, and 3/8” O.D. airline sizes with 1/8”, 1/4”, and 3/8” NPT fittings if applicable.
Push-To-Connect fittings are a type of easily removed compression fitting, or quick connect fitting, that allows an airline to be attached without the use of tools. This saves up to 75% of assembly time when compared to a standard compression fitting. They use a resilient O-ring for sealing and a grip ring (or collet) to hold the air line in place so there are also no loose parts to handle. The resilient O-ring guarantees a leak free seal. The fittings are also re-usable and can be connected and disconnected several times.
Our fittings feature nickel plated brass for increased resistance to corrosion, and all male pipe threads have pre-applied PTFE based pipe sealant, saving you additional time on labor. They have a full flow design, providing 60% more flow area than conventional fittings with internal tube support. Read More about VIAIR DOT Approved Premium Push-to-Connect Fittings Lineup
