The 14th annual Spring Festival of LX based out of Southern California, showcased their annual gathering of the LX enthusiasts at Pomona Raceway this past weekend. This unique mopar event united all LX vehicle owners in one location from across the country. With humble beginnings in 2004 consisting of only 4 vehicles, this showstopper has now grown to over 2,000 registered attendees in 2019!
This event exclusively invites owners of mopar-style vehicles – including the Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum, Charger, Challenger, Demon and Hellcats, Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durango’s. Attendees traveled from all over the United States and some parts of Canada to attend this special show.
Promoters and event coordinators John Fortuno and Jon Welfringer have partnered with Chrysler, Dodge, Mopar and SRT to grow this epic event to the next level. Executives from Dodge and Chrysler offices have a strong presence at the show, with brand support, giveaways and event attendance!
Chrysler and Dodge LX/LC/LD platform vehicles owners are a unique niche of enthusiasts who all share their mopar passions online through social media and online forums. They connect with each other to discuss modifications by posting photos of their vehicles and custom builds. The Spring Festival show is the place to foster these relationships in person, and debut their own builds to the mopar community. This one-of a-kind event has attendees returning for more year after year!
VIAIR enjoyed attending Spring Festival again this year! We checked out the nearby Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum to view hot rod and drag racing memorabilia while families enjoyed kid-friendly activities at the Chrysler Kids Zone featuring the VANkulture Hybrid Pacifica with photo booth.
Drag racing along the Historic Auto Club Raceway provided access to the ¼ mile drag strip run by the National Hot Rod Association. Participants had a choice to experience the Pennzoil driving simulator and Oil Change Challenge, or enjoy a Meet and Greet with the Design and Engineering of Fiat Chrysler Automatable Executives. Dodge Designer Alley, featuring the 2019 Dodge 1320, ran top-notch thrill rides all day. This high horsepower ride piloted by a professional driver is a top favorite event amongst attendees.
Notable vendors such as Universal Air, Bag Life, DK Customs LV, Edelbrock, AFE Power, Jay Lenos Garage, Al & Ed’s Autosound, Injen and Penzoil displayed the latest products this year at Vendor Midway, equivalent to the size of 2 football fields! Wiked Kustomz, a well-known mopar custom auto shop based out of the Bay Area in Northern California, made the trek down to this enthusiast show to display multiple VIAIR-equipped vehicles. Showstopper builds featuring Avant Garde wheels were the highlight of the Wiked Team!
This unique show has grown larger every year and we look forward to attending next year to continue to support our mopar enthusiasts!
