Slamboree, presented by The Big Show in Oklahoma, is considered one of the premier automotive shows in the Mid West. Their mission is to be the largest contributor to Toys for Tots (Midwest) and also to provide a large car, truck and motorcycle show.
The founder of the show, Jimmie Broyles, started back in 1994 with only 67 cars and trucks. The show’s roots came from little to no options – welcoming minitruck and sport compact classes at car shows. Slamboree successfully ran for 10 years before they took a hiatus in 2004.
The show returned in 2013 and has been going strong ever since. Last year’s vehicle attendance was 400+ growing to over 600 entries for 2017. Over the years, notable magazines and web publications – including Truckin’ and Mini Truckin’ – have provided worldwide coverage about Slamboree.
The popularity and success of Slamboree has allowed the show to give its proceeds to Toys for Tots, a charity organization for under privileged children. This year, Slamboree hosted the official 25-year celebration of Severed Ties, a worldwide car and truck club that brought out even more attendees!
The setting of the show is about half an hour from Oklahoma City, at the Grand Casino in Shawnee, OK. It provides a fun atmosphere for attendees if they want to take a break from the car show.
VIAIR is a proud supporter of Slamboree. This year, we donated a chrome Dual Pack 444C for their giveaway. Awards included: Best of, Top Awards for Car, Trucks and Bikes, Kids Choice and Ladies Choice. It’s always a pleasure to be a part of a great show that benefits a great cause. We look forward to Slamboree’s continued success.
