This year, VIAIR featured LGE-CTS Motorsport’s 1976 Ford Bronco as our 2017 Off Road Expo booth vehicle! More than just a custom body shop, LGE-CTS is known for their wild modifications and complete restorations.
We had a chance to talk with one of LGE-CTS’ leading ladies, Sara Morosan, about her popular influence in the 4×4 industry and her experience with VIAIR.
How long have you been in the automotive industry?
Our company was started in 1982 by my mom and dad. I started working here in 1995 and have been in the industry for more than two decades.
Being that LGE-CTS does it all – air suspension, off-road, and more – which market would you say was the most popular last year?
For us, the Off-Road market was the largest, mainly because those are the shows and events we focus on and enjoy doing ourselves.
As a predominant off-road celebrity, how did you get involved in the scene?
My family has been into off-roading their whole life. Our family vacations were always around some off-road event like All For Fun Jeep runs in Colorado or Utah. And throughout the year, you would find us taking short weekend trips out at Glamis, Johnson Valley or some local desert.
Why do you run VIAIR compressors?
I run Viair product because it is important to have products you can rely on when out in the middle of nowhere.
What other projects are you working on that run VIAIR Compressors?
We have Viair on our ’15 Jeep Wrangler JKU, ’17 Ford Superduty, ’18 Ford Expedition and of course our Ford Bronco.
The ‘76 Bronco was a smash hit as our booth vehicle at the Off Road Expo this year. Was it well received at other events?
We do really well with our Bronco at events! It’s very bright and different than the other vehicles at the events, so it always gets a lot of love and attention. It does even better when people see it out on the trails and us getting it dirty.
How important was your VIAIR Ultra Duty OBA to your build, and what did you think of its performance?
I have an OBA compressor on our Bronco and we use it all the time. On my Jeep, I run air lockers, so I also have an OBA but I always have a hand-held compressor on me as well, at all times…You never want to be stranded in the middle of a trail with no way to get out because you don’t have air. It is surprising how often others need to use it and it’s so convenient to have something portable when a time in need. Airing up the tires is an obvious application for the compressor for when off-roading, but we use it for so much more. It is surprising how often I use it and what I use it for.
I have used it to air up floaties at the river or beach and bicycle tires. When working on vehicles in the middle of the desert we need air to blow off all the sand and dirt, so we can work with a clean part. What is nice about the OBA over the handle, though, is the tank and having more air for doing the bigger jobs. On our Superduty we use the OBA for the helper bags and the air horns. I have even used it when I got a flat on my trailer – when I was towing, it came in handy to have something that filled fast and I used an actual impact gun which was nice. I also used it to blow off the outdoor rug before putting everything back in the storage bins and it helps keep things clean. I absolutely love my Viair compressors!
What off-road shows do you frequently attend? Which event is your favorite?
We try to do all local off-road shows if possible. We do the best at Sand Sports Super Show which I love going to, but my favorite show is Tierra Del Sol (TDS) which is out at Ocotillo Wells, CA. I like this event because it is local, and you get to see everyone out using their toys in action – whereas other shows we attend, we just hear about their toys but don’t actually get to see them in action!
