C MODEL COMPRESSORS - 12 & 24-Volt (Use with Reservoir Tank)
VIAIR “C” model compressors are intended to fill air tanks. They are not equipped with an ON/OFF switch or pressure sensitive shutoff device of any kind. The use of a pressure switch and relay are recommended and required. All “C” model VIAIR compressors (except certain 90 & 100 series units) are equipped with a stainless steel braided leader hose and a check valve to keep the compressor from restarting under pressure which can create an amp draw spike and can cause motor damage. Most VIAIR compressors are equipped with a thermal overload protector that will shut down the unit when overheated. When cool, the compressor will automatically restart as normal.

HARDMOUNT COMPRESSORS (Tire Fill)
The function of a VIAIR “H” model compressor is to fill tires with the use of an air line and an open-end air chuck such as P/N 00025, 00027 & 00029. Please note, all air chucks used with “H” model compressors must be an “open-ended” type that allow air to pass through them freely. A close-ended air chuck will hold air back, which will damage the compressor and will cause the air line to rupture, which can cause injury. All “H” model compressors come with an onboard ON/OFF switch and are equipped with a stainless steel braided leader hose with an open-end quick connect stud installed at the end of the hose. This type of compressor does not come with a check valve, since it is NOT intended to fill air tanks. All “H” model compressors must be installed using the appropriate gauge wiring for the distance from the intended power source and must be properly fused to protect the unit and the vehicle it is installed inside of. All VIAIR compressors are equipped with a thermal overload protector that will shut down the unit when overheated. When cool, the compressor will automatically restart as normal.

INDUSTRIAL GRADE COMPRESSORS (IG) - 12 & 24-Volt (Use with Reservoir Tank)
Industrial Grade (IG) compressors are specifically designed to fill air reservoir tanks and feature a specialized head assembly that includes a newly-developed, patents pending intercooler for higher heat dissipation. All IG compressors are certified CE spec. and feature outstanding sealing properties to the elements. Additionally, all IG compressors are equipped with stainless steel braided PTFE-lined leader hoses and a separate check valve assembly that serves to protect the compressor by eliminating the possibility of high amperage restarts. IG compressors require the use of a pressure switch that allows operation up to each compressor’s maximum working pressure as well as a relay for installation.
