We’re excited to share our DOT approved Push-to-Connect fittings, made from nickel-plated brass for durability and corrosion resistance, with a max working pressure of 200 PSI. These fittings make installation of an airline a breeze! Simply push the airline securely into the fitting and it is locked in and ready to go.
Our Push-To-Connect fittings have a highly competitive price point, offering an excellent quality solution for connecting air lines. They provide quick installation, while still allowing airlines to flex and move.
These fittings use an internal collet and an external push button to connect quickly and effortlessly, creating a leak free connection. VIAIR’s Push-to-Connect fittings come in 1/8”, 1/4”, and 3/8” O.D. airline sizes with 1/8”, 1/4”, and 3/8” NPT fittings if applicable.
Push-To-Connect fittings are a type of easily removed compression fitting, or quick connect fitting, that allows an airline to be attached without the use of tools. This saves up to 75% of assembly time when compared to a standard compression fitting. They use a resilient O-ring for sealing and a grip ring (or collet) to hold the air line in place so there are also no loose parts to handle. The resilient O-ring guarantees a leak free seal. The fittings are also re-usable and can be connected and disconnected several times.
Our fittings feature nickel plated brass for increased resistance to corrosion, and all male pipe threads have pre-applied PTFE based pipe sealant, saving you additional time on labor. They have a full flow design, providing 60% more flow area than conventional fittings with internal tube support.
When should you use these fittings?
These fittings can be used for any application that requires a fitting to connect an airline. Some examples might be: connecting an airline to a tank, connecting an airline to an in dash gauge, connecting an airline to lockers, connecting an airline to an air management system, and relocating an air source to remote mount a quick connect fitting for easy tire fills.
These fittings meet Department of Transportation (DOT) FMVSS 571.106 SAE J1131 Air Brake System Requirements. “DOT approved” means that they have been tested and approved by the Department of Transportation to be used in on-road vehicles. In order for the fittings to be DOT approved, they must meet strict regulations, standards, specifications and tests. DOT Fittings are constructed with an all brass captive eyelet which allows for maximum flow. The brass captive eyelet with extended length is floating and has a machined top end radius for easy installation of tubing.
If you’re still wondering how to assemble and disassemble the fittings, see the chart below:
Insert tube end into fitting, sliding I.D. of the tube over insert (friction is felt as tube slides past O-Ring). Continue to push tube in until it bottoms out. No tools needed.
Use thumb and forefinger to disconnect tube. Hold down the top of the insert against the fitting body and pull out the tubing with the other hand. No tools needed.
